About the Oregon Orchid Society

The Oregon Orchid Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational resources to orchid enthusiasts. The OOS general meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 P.M. at the Multnomah Art Center, 7688 SW Capitol Hwy., Portland, Oregon (Get directions). Each meeting features a lecture or other educational program and a display of blooming plants. Visitors are always welcome! Membership is open to anyone interested in orchids.

Becoming a Member of OOS

Application for membership should be made to the membership chairperson; yearly dues depend on how you select to receive the Calypso newsletter. For two years of on-line viewing of the newsletter with lots of color photographs the dues are $22 and for one year it's $12. If you would like a printer copy of the newsletter mailed to you your dues will be $34 for two years and $18 for one year. Please make checks payable to Oregon Orchid Society, and mail to OOS c/o Lori Rheinberger, Membership Chairperson, PO Box 14182, Portland, Oregon 97293 (tel 503.632.4884). You may also join at the monthly meetings. Membership includes a subscription to Calypso, the newsletter of the Oregon Orchid Society, a copy of Your First Orchids and How to Grow them, access to our lending library and discounted rates for potting supplies. When you join at a monthly meeting or after you've joined and come to your first meeting we'll usually have a potted orchid for you to home. Of course any additional donation you would like to make beyond the standard membership dues will be appreciated.
